Terms of Use

These conditions apply to every visit, search, and use of the website. Accessing the site means accepting them. A person who disagrees with any condition should stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. McMullen County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service for any purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, insurance, or tenant decisions.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of every government office. It does not store official files, obtain records on a visitor's behalf, perform an official check, or submit court papers.

Its role is to identify official sources such as the McMullen County Sheriff, the combined clerk and courts, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Government agency requests may be governed by the Texas Public Information Act, while Government Code Chapter 411 controls access to and dissemination of criminal-history information. Some pages also connect to separately operated search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the service in violation of local, Texas, or federal law
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass another person with information found here
  • Use any content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the website or its systems
  • Deploy scrapers, bots, or other automated collection tools
  • Interfere with site speed, security, or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No site or linked-tool information may be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Texas registry data is provided for public safety. Misuse against a listed person may violate law. Vigilante conduct and adverse employment or housing treatment based on registry information are prohibited.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not prepare background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. The same restriction applies to use of data reached through a linked tool. You agree not to use that data to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Set credit or insurance terms
  • Determine eligibility for a license, benefit, permit, or program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated action

A lawful regulated check must come from an authorized official channel or a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

General information about McMullen County records is not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to a specific situation.

6. No Warranties

All content is supplied "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • Information is always accurate, complete, or current
  • Access will be uninterrupted
  • The service will be free of bugs, errors, or security flaws
  • An outside search result will be complete or correctly matched

Charges, dispositions, custody status, expunctions, and access rules change. Gaps or delays are possible. No statement here is an official declaration from the Sheriff, a court, Texas DPS, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government agencies, courts, legal resources, and commercial tools. Those services control their own content, availability, prices, privacy practices, and terms. Review those terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to McMullen County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distributing, modifying, or creating derivative content requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for loss arising from use of the website or reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the operator harmless from claims, demands, actions, expenses, and reasonable legal fees caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
